As stated in promotional material for the C6: “The sixth-generation Corvette blends technical sophistication with expressive style. The C6 Corvette was not a total redesign (as its C5 predecessor had been in 1997,) but rather it was an advancement of the car that carried forward many of the best features of the fifth-generation model. There were some that felt the arrival of the sixth-generation Corvette should have been slated for a 2003 unveiling – mainly to coincide with the Corvette’s 50th Anniversary.
